What do we
do?
We work with thousands of students every year, from Year 5 up to Sixth Form, usually through whole-cohort events at any point in the year, including:
Start-of-year bonding days
Special mid-year days to tie in with existing plans
Activity-week challenge days
We work with you to design a day tailored for the outcomes you want for your students.
“It really was exactly what we were looking for in terms of building critical thinking and debating skills, and getting them to think on the spot.”
Katy Powis-Holt, Head of Year 12, Eltham College
The LOtC Quality Badge is the only national award assessing both the quality of risk management and educational provision across all types of learning outside the classroom providers.
Using a provider of LOtC who holds the LOtC Quality Badge gives you peace of mind that they have been assessed for their quality of risk management and their education. LOtC Quality Badge holders all have to meet a set of Quality Indicators.
“Tom and his colleagues delivering the event were completely professional, accommodating and entirely engaging of the young people when facilitating their session during my assessment. Their approach was open and friendly yet challenging of the young people in such a way that they were encouraged and enticed to develop the ideas, tasks and themes set for them, that all goals were achieved, and in some cases exceeded. Tom’s ability to cross reference and pollinate aspects of his philosophy background to inform his delivery, also shone through.” LOtC in-person assessor.
Why choose us?
We do…
…only use our own team of highly-experienced staff - all experts in facilitating an inclusive experience for every student
…deliver a variety of activities beyond the usual:
Physical and intellectual challenges that involve everyone
Original problem-solving tasks you won’t find anywhere else
Creative activities that help every student find their voice
…create a tailored experience for you. We discuss your aims, visit your school site, and stay in contact throughout the run-up to make life as easy as possible.
We don’t…
…rely on inexperienced staff / temps / summer job students
…ask your staff to deliver activities.
…hide behind glossy equipment at the neglect of actual progress and skill-building
Why did we begin?
You never forget moments of leadership - leading others, or leading your own learning.
The times you rose to a challenge or made a breakthrough boost your confidence for life.
These moments can change how a young person sees themselves - and help them identify as a resilient, independent thinker.
They’re votes in the column of “I’m capable.”
Leadership can take many different forms. And our vision is to help unearth the leader inside every child.
And we saw teambuilding being done in schools by other companies, but without the care and attention to neurodiversity and inclusive practice that all students deserve.
So we exist to provide bespoke, on-site days for schools that deliver a mix of collaboration, critical-thinking and new experiences.
“When we booked the Hidden Leaders day, we knew our children would engage with the activities on offer, but what we had not considered was the range of other skills they would develop and enhance.”
Watching the children “grow” throughout the day was incredible. The range of activities ensured that all our children were engaged, regardless of physical or mental ability. Stepping out of comfort zones was huge for some of our class but the way the activities were arranged and delivered ensured success for all. Our loudest, more confident listened, whilst our less confident and more reserved spoke.

Pastoral and Mental Health Lead, Goffs Oak Primary School

For Sixth Forms

“Our event was very well-paced, building in opportunities for reflection and consolidation that were authentic and meaningful.
The team-building activities were fantastic ice-breakers, helping everyone work together in a fun and active way. A real, and perhaps unexpected, triumph of the day was how successful the debating and ethics activities were; it was really rewarding to see how many pupils genuinely enjoyed and actively engaged in activities that were completely new to them. As a result, we saw a significant leap in developing higher level thinking skills, confidence and collaborative working.
All of the Hidden Leaders’ facilitators were both professional and respectful at all times - they are experts in their field, which makes a tremendous difference to the quality of the provision on offer. I can’t recommend Hidden Leaders enough!”
