staff inset/away days

Looking for a staff INSET day with a difference? We’re often asked by schools who’ve seen us work with their pupils to come in and run stuff for the teachers!

Our INSET days give your staff:

  • the chance to bond and integrate over fun problem-solving and team-challenges

  • takeaway ideas for team-building and critical-thinking for their classrooms

  • new, memorable experiences - such as archery, axe-throwing and bushcraft, and taking advantage of your school site like never before!

How does it all work?

  1. First of all, we hear from you. Tom will arrange a phone call where we listen to your goals - it might be a mid-year boost to staff well-being, or to give everyone new ideas for facilitation in the classroom or provide everyone with reward at the end of the school year, We’ll ask lots of questions to give us a really good idea of what matters most for you and what success would look like. We don’t want to offer you stuff you don’t want!

  2. Tom will then put together a brief menu of options based on what you’ve told us, all at different price points so you can choose something that fits your budget. It’ll be ready to forward to any fellow decision-makers/budget holders so they can learn about us for themselves.

  3. You get back to us - hopefully with a green light! - and we’ll send you a booking form out to secure the day.

  4. Tom and Alex then work with you on the simple logistical matters, e.g. set-up, groupings and arrival times. We may organise a site visit if there’s lots of outdoor stuff planned. There’s very little for you to do besides organise pupil groups and supervision.

  5. We set up, bring our team of experts to deliver a memorable day, and create a real impact on staff morale, practice and bonding (and also plenty of resources for you and your colleagues). Learn more.

This is the second team building day we have had from Hidden Leaders and both have been excellent. It was great to have completely different challenges this time round.

The day is always so well planned, resourced and delivered by motivating and fun instructors. Hidden Leaders make the whole process from booking through to clearing up after the day so seamless and easy.

We saw stronger team relationships, improved communication between colleagues and staff members taking on problem solving with greater faith in their ideas

A massive thank you, we will definitely be asking you back!

New and developed relationships

A buzz either before term starts, or to boost morale

Help everyone see different sides to each other

Before the day… some staff were had trepidation about working with colleagues outside of their usual class groups, and from a senior leadership point, worries were; would staff engage with the day positively, would the day have the intended outcome for strengthened relationships.

After the day… staff were exceptionally positive about the whole day - there was energy uplift, appreciation for skills and strengths not normally seen and team cohesiveness. It had the desired outcome of bringing the staff team together for the last long half term of the year, many staff commented on how the INSET had given them a new energy for the last part of the academic year.

Hidden Leaders were all very professional, friendly and knowledgeable, this greatly helped to relieve any anxieties and put people at ease to then fully enjoy the day.

We have already raved about the Hidden Leaders Team Building Day to our network of partner schools. Our staff have asked to make this an annual INSET Day!!!
